Hello everyone,
Sorry about the delay on this, I’ve been sick most of the week.
I’ve planned a ride up to Hudson NY to the Olana estate which has incredible high commanding views of the Hudson River and the Catskills.

It is the home of 19th century artist Frederic Church. If you’ve ever been to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC you’ve most likely seen his paintings.

There is a $5 entry fee to the estate and a $9 house tour fee, but the $5 entry fee is applied to the house tour fee.
The web site suggests reservations for the house tour, so if you can let me know by Tuesday if you’ll be attending I will call ahead. Groups of 12 or more require reservations.
We will meet at 10AM at the commuter parking lot at exit 42 off of Rt 8. This is the intersection of Rt 118 and Rt 8. The commuter lot is across the street from the northbound entrance of Rt 8. We can take a group vote whether to eat before or after we visit Olana.
From Rt 8 S, turn right at end of ramp, lot is immediately to your right.
From Rt 8 N, turn left at end of ramp, lot is up on your left.
From 118 W, lot is on your left.
From 118 E, lot is on your right.
Steve and I took a nice ride throughout NW CT today – contrary to media reports, the leaves are not at peak colors yet, but should be throughout the coming week.
